Larry Wayne Cahill

March 31, 1941 – January 20, 2023

Larry Wayne Cahill, 81, of Houston, TX, passed away January 20, 2023. He was born in Austin, TX on March 31, 1941 to Willie Weber Cahill and Eula Marie Cahill. He was married to Jan Graham Cahill and they would have celebrated 20 years together this coming May.

Larry had a successful career in the oil and gas industry working for Shell, Enterprise Products, Ferrell Gas and finished his career with Koch Industries where he was a Vice President over the Olefins division and eventually a Vice President of Business Development where he proudly negotiated contracts, business deals and joint ventures.

He was a member of the Durango Mountain Caballeros in Durango, CO where for 15 years he sojourned by horseback over the mountains of southern Colorado. Larry looked forward to these trips as he was always a cowboy at heart even though he never got a chance to be the real thing. He had the rare opportunity to live out his dream.

 

He also had a passion for fishing both fresh and salt water. He spent many mornings on Lake Michigan, Lake Livingston, Lake Conroe, Lake Sam Rayborn, Clear Lake and the Gulf of Mexico. He also loved to hunt deer and other game as well as ducks, dove and pheasant.

 

The Astros were his team and he enjoyed taking his kids and grandkids to the games at the Astrodome and Minute Maid Park. One thing he loved to do the most was travel. He and Jan spent many years cruising the ocean blue all over the globe taking in the sights, pulling the slots on the machines as well as playing Black Jak and Texas Hold Em’.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Willie and Eula Cahill, his first wife, Doris Darlene Cahill, and his nephew Scott DeWayne Cahill.

 

He is survived by his wife, Jan Graham Cahill; his brother, Robert Cahill (wife Sandra Cahill); his daughter, Vickie Lynn Metzinger (Husband Tom Metzinger); his son, Michael Wayne Cahill (wife Dr. Terra Dassau Cahill); his grandchildren Chandler Scott Cahill (wife Jessie May Cahill), Evan Robert Metzinger, Sydney Metzinger Penzhorn (husband Kai Penzhorn), Chalin Emile Dassau, Spencer Jordan Cahill, Abbie Iris Wolfe, Edward Zachary Wolfe; great grandson Oliver Michael Cahill; step daughter Julie Elizabeth Echols (husband James Porter Echols, Jr.); step son Zachary David Wolfe (wife Iris Diaz Wolfe).

Peter Kurt Schwarz, Sr.

October 10, 1968-July 12, 2020

Peter Kurt Schwarz, Sr., age 51 of Kennett Square, passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2020 at his home. He was the amazing, loving husband of Christine (Buckland) Schwarz. They shared 23 years of marriage and three awesome children: Peter Jr., Emma and Margo. With Pete it was always family first. He adored his family and was truly the greatest role model for his children with his tremendous work ethic and his ability to give excellent advice.

 

He was caring, generous and smart. Pete was born on October 10, 1968 in Lansdale, PA. He was the son of Kurt W. Schwarz and the late Lore (Ruof) Schwarz. Pete is survived by his brother Steven and wife Lynne, and his in-laws Betty and George Buckland. In addition, he will be greatly missed by his nephews, niece and many loving friends and family members. Pete will also be missed by the newest member of the Schwarz family, his dog, Oakley.

Pete was a graduate of North Penn High School where he was a standout soccer player. He studied Mechanical Engineering at Drexel University and was a member of the Theta Chi fraternity. He continued on to achieve his MBA from West Chester University. Pete’s career work was in energy management. He began his career with Praxair which took him on an adventure to living in Kansas for over two years.

 

Happy to be returning home to the east coast he began a successful 17-year career at Sunoco in many roles, finishing as a Senior Natural Gas and Electricity Trader. Following Sunoco, Pete worked for Philadelphia Energy Solutions as a Senior Trader. Most recently he was thriving at his position as Business Development Manager at Centennial Energy. Pete had an easy way of communicating with colleagues and made genuine connections. He was highly skilled at building relationships and finding strategic solutions.

In his free time Pete loved being with his family and playing soccer. He also enjoyed fishing, coaching, golf and watching his children play sports. He loved being outdoors and going to the beach where he could be found riding waves with his family. He was the best cook and was always a warm

host. Pete was a master at installing or repairing almost everything. He was a creative thinker and a problem solver around the house. If he had questions he would research and figure it out. Pete’s greatest joy was found just playing in the backyard with his children, kicking the soccer ball around or having a catch. He was the best planner and always had great vacation ideas. He loved showing his children different destinations around the United States and Europe. He was the best Daddy.
